Educational background: Somi graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design in 2007 majoring fine art and continued the education by studying at
Toronto Art Therapy Institute to enhance her knowledge of psychology and arts.
Artistic Style: The motivations of her works are coming from the impression of everyday life scenery, objects and how she feels about them.
Somi tries to see the relationship between the object she sees and its effect on her emotion. Somi says "Nature always makes me feel calm and more stable than the urban environment. I express those feelings into my paintings."
Somi is a founder of Somi art Inc, and established Somi Art Gallery in 2006, and opened Yisom Art Studio in North York in 2008.
The studio recently moved to Woodbridge.
